VisAn MHD: a toolbox in Matlab for MHD computer model data visualisation and analysis

چکیده
Among the many challenges facing modern space physics today is the need for a visualisation and analysis package which can examine the results from the diversity of numerical and empirical computer models as well as observational data. Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) models represent the latest numerical models of the complex Earth’s space environment and have the unique ability to span the enormous distances present in the magnetosphere from several hundred kilometres to several thousand kilometres above the Earth surface. This feature enables scientist to study complex structures of processes where otherwise only point measurements from satellites or ground-based instruments are available. Only by combining these observational data and the MHD simulations it is possible to enlarge the scope of the point-to-point observations and to fill the gaps left by measurements in order to get a full 3-D representation of the processes in our geospace environment. In this paper we introduce the VisAn MHD toolbox for Matlab as a tool for the visualisation and analysis of observational data and MHD simulations. We have created an easy to use tool which is capable of highly sophisticated visualisations and data analysis of the results from a diverse set of MHD models in combination with in situ measurements from satellites and groundbased instruments. The toolbox is being released under an open-source licensing agreement to facilitate and encourage community use and contribution.

Study of MHD Second Grade Flow through a Porous Microchannel under the Dual-Phase-Lag Heat and Mass Transfer Model
A semi-analytical investigation has been carried out to analyze unsteady MHD second-grade flow under the Dual-Phase-Lag (DPL) heat and mass transfer model in a vertical microchannel filled with porous material. Diffusion thermo (Dufour) effects and homogenous chemical reaction are considered as well. The governing partial differential equations are solved by using the Laplace transform method w...
متن کاملDirichlet series and approximate analytical solutions of MHD flow over a linearly stretching sheet
The paper presents the semi-numerical solution for the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) viscous flow due to a stretching sheet caused by boundary layer of an incompressible viscous flow. The governing partial differential equations of momentum equations are reduced into a nonlinear ordinary differential equation (NODE) by using a classical similarity transformation along with appropriate boundary cond...

Analysis of intrinsic irreversibility and heat transfer in a buoyancy-driven changeable viscosity liquid along an incline heated wall with convective cooling taking into consideration the heated isothermal and isoflux wall is investigated. By Newton’s law of cooling, we assumed the free surface exchange heat with environment and fluid viscosity is exponentially dependent on temperature. Appropr...

In this research, Magneto-Hydro-Dynamic subsonic flow in a MHD generator has been simulated and its effect on efficiency and power generation of a triple cycle has been investigated. A 2D constant cross-section Faraday channel with segmented electrodes was used as MHD generator. MHD flow was assumed steady and compressible with ideal five-wave model MHD equations. Navier-Stokes equations were ...
